Teased a few months ago, the Air Jordan 4 with camo shape, imagined by the Jumpman’s faithful collaborator, Aleali May, was officially unveiled on November 11th. A release reserved for “friends & family” on the occasion of Veterans Day.
The prolific Aleali May continues to draw on her family heritage as well as strong cultural movements for the design of her pairs in collaboration with Jordan. After the Jordan XIV Low “Fortune” where she invited the women in her life to embody the campaign, the designer returns with an Air Jordan 4 in homage to her father, a former soldier in the US Army until 2013.
The silhouette is adorned with a brown and green camouflage print throughout the sand-coloured upper. Other key details include a suede midsole, tongue and heel, as well as a purple cushioned insole featuring Aleali May’s signature ‘A’ logo. To complete the design, a removable ‘Jumpman Compass’ velcro patch replaces the usual ‘Flight’ logo on the tongue.
The pair, released only for the designer’s friends and family, has not yet been commercialised, but perhaps it will be released to the public soon?
