The star designer lifted the lid on a new pair of sneakers at his most recent catwalk show.
As the high priest of teasing 2.0, Virgil Abloh once again proved he’s the undisputed master of digital buzz in the world of fashion: the multi-talented designer unveiled his new Off-White™ x Air Jordan IVs on Instagram stories just hours before his autumn 2020 ready-to-wear show in the middle of Paris Fashion Week devoted to womenswear.
Brand aficionados instantly spotted the cream model had previously appeared at his Freedom of Speech exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago: sleek and minimalist sneakers with translucent overlays, a gum and white sole and laces covered in the savvy Jumpman and Off White™ collaboration’s signature branding.
This is a “slightly off” design just as Virgil Abloh described his catwalk show celebrating casual styles with bold fabric pairings where opposites attract. This casual look is all about contrasts as seen in one of the catwalk’s biggest hits where a sexy bralette and eye-catching cut-out skirt were paired with the already cult sneakers.
