How about renting Jean Paul Gaultier’s archives?

Fans of vintage fashion, and more specifically of fashion prodigy Jean Paul Gaultier, should be aware of this. The leading French designer is making almost 30,000 pieces from his old collections available for rent. Scarves, a “cage” dress, a conical bustier, jewellery: why not fall for these iconic treasures?

What’s as cool as the return of Jean Paul Gaultier’s ready-to-wear range with its new unisex collection inspired by the punk movement? The answer is simple: the arrival of a rental service for his iconic vintage pieces. For the first time ever, fans of the designer will be able to rent an iconic piece for a week, from a selection of 30,000 archival creations. In the catalogue? From the incredible “cage” dress to the bustier with conical breasts.

About thirty looks will be offered for rent and renewed on a regular basis to keep this new platform alive. For Antoine Gagey and according to an interview with WWD, the fashion house hopes to “surprise the customer and give him the opportunity to wear different Jean Paul Gaultier pieces that he cannot buy, simply because they no longer exist”. In addition, the house will start selling second-hand pieces and will also offer archive pieces from private customers or resellers.
