Nike partners with tech fabrics leader to create must-haves that are wind-proof and water-proof.
Winter cold and icy rain leaving you with cold feet? Never again, thanks to Nike’s latest innovation. To develop the 2 latest designs of its cult Air Force 1, the Swoosh joined forces with GORE-TEX, the leader in technical fabrics. A breathable, water-resistant material that’s been around for 4 decades, GORE-TEX works just as well for outdoor performance sports as it does for hiking, and even firefighting.
Two new sneakers winterized to handle harsh weather
Two options so sneakerheads can brave the cold : first, the Nike Air Force 1 GORE-TEX low top: while staying true to the original look, it has laces specially designed to wick water, and an inner liner that features a high tech membrane developed by GORE-TEX: an insulation system that extends across the toe box to protect toes from the cold. The high top version has a waterproof duck boot outsole, and is decorated with an all-terrain rubber swoosh. The only distinguishing visual feature: the GORE-TEX logo woven in relief onto the heel, a discreet detail to reflect the technical pedigree.
