Noel Fielding: an amazing collab with Fendi

The Italian brand unveiled its collaboration with the multi-talented artist Noel Fielding at its The New Normal menswear catwalk show..

What is “the new normal” in a world of virtual catwalks and social distancing? That’s the big question the designer Silvia Fendi Venturini asked at the last A/W menswear show. The Italian brand unveiled its menswear collection that rewrites the post-pandemic fashion rules by adapting classic pieces to the new normal. A fashion feat with flashy hues and pop designs dotted with multi-coloured neon, the perfect antidote to the doom and gloom around us.

Contemporary art lovers instantly recognised the artist Noel Fielding’s signature. The exuberant multi-talented Brit is a comedian, presenter, artist and actor but little-known in France. He trained at the Croydon School of Art, is loved by his fellow Brits for his dark humour and surrealist style and he produces installations, drawings, collages and paintings.

The cultural icon on the underground scene has had his work displayed at London’s Saatchi Gallery and the Royal Albert Hall. He also loves fashion and talented designers, so much so that there’s an Instagram account devoted to his outfits by the likes of Raf Simons and Dries Van Noten. So fashionistas weren’t surprised to see Fielding’s beloved bright colours adorn the latest Fendi catwalk show: The artist put his own fabulous spin on the brand’s logo, adorning coats, knits and leather goods with colourful inscriptions and patterns true to his style inspired by the innocence of childhood.
