What was Nigo’s first show for Kenzo like?

Sunday 23 January saw Nigo’s big premiere as artistic director of KENZO. For the occasion, the Japanese chose an iconic place: the Galerie Vivienne… where the great Kenzo Takada founded his first boutique in 1970!

On the programme for the godfather of streetwear (Bape, BBC, Human Made): a classy and unisex collection where colours and patterns are the key. The play of materials and construction sublimates preppy classics such as trench coats, shirts or waistcoats 🧥👔

Floral patterns, like the iconic poppy print, dress up more casual pieces like flowing skirts. In keeping with the times, knitted jumpers and varsity jackets are also in the mix. And what completely captivated us? The accessories! 👀

Between berets with exaggerated cuts, hats in bright colours and bags that look like plush toys for kids: impossible to resist 😍
